The purpose of the study was to identify the specifics of the images of men in the feminist prose of Evgeniya Yaroshynska using the example of the analysis of the texts of four images "The Guest", "The Yard of Life", "Flowers" and "The Bridegroom on Payment".
Research methods. The holistic method allowed us to analyze the images of men in the feminist prose (pictures of life) of Evgeniya Yaroshynska from the standpoint of the integrity of the world, that is, in the chosen genre "pictures of life" we see a reflection of the whole world of the characters of the pictures of life in their interconnection and systematicity. Among the general scientific methods, we chose the methods of analysis and synthesis, which allowed us to conditionally "dismember" the general phenomenon of the picture of the world with which the characters of the pictures of life, created by E. Yaroshynska, live. The field methods in our research were the methods of observation, the method of quantum chronos, and the method of description.
Using the methodology (research procedure), we identified several actions. 4 images of life were subject to analysis: "Guest" (volume – 7,206 characters with spaces), "Yard of life" (volume – 7,249 characters with spaces), "Flowers" (volume – 4,661 characters with spaces) and "Wife for payments " (volume – 7,693 characters with spaces). In the analyzed texts of E. Yaroshynska, we identified fragments in which the author provided a detailed (or fragmentary) description of the male characters. We characterized the author's descriptions of men according to the semantic differential scale of C. Osgood (Osgood, 1964). Each description received a conditional formal indicator of "positive traits" ("+3"), "negative traits" ("–3"), or "neutral traits" ("0").
The results of the research were entered in tables, cycloramas and diagrams, which are posted on the electronic resources "Figshare" and SSRN.
In the conclusions, we stated that there is specificity in the five images of men depicted by E. Yaroshynska in four images ("The Guest", "The Yard of Life", "Flowers" and "The Bridegroom on Payment"). It was established that the mentioned specificity consists of a clear tendency to dominate negative features of images of men. It should also be noted that the revealed trend indicates the unconscious negative attitude of the writer E. Yaroshynska towards men.
